A variety of membership options are available to interested recruits - veterans and green
troops alike. All that is required is a desire to honor our Civil War ancestors, sufficient funds
to present an accurate and educational impression and the ability to work well with others.
We will turn you into a Civil War soldier!
Safety is our first concern. Although no live ammunition is ever permitted at (or near!)
an event, the blank rounds utilized to portray battle scenarios are potentially hazardous to
everyone on the field. The reproduction and original weapons used by reenactors are very
real and, in untrained hands, very dangerous. We conduct a training camp each year to
instruct all new recruits in the proper and safe use of the weapons used in their impression,
including rifles and carbines, sidearms, sabers and artillery pieces. Additionally, unit specific
instruction is given for each branch of the service involved, including infantry drill on the
company and battalion level, cavalry drill and basic reenacting horsemanship and etiquette,
and safety first artillery drill.
