The 7th NJ Civilians
The Society of the Jersey Blues was created to provide meaningful activities for family members of the various military units to participate in Civil War Reenacting. Through a variety of impressions, we endeavor to recreate an atmosphere of Civil War camp life to educate the public. We need men, women and children who are willing to be creative and put life into living history.

Our Brigade is family oriented, with most of the civilians being connected to a member of the military. We encourage all family members to participate in anyway they feel comfortable. From nursing the wounded on the battlefield to camp visitors, there is a place for everybody and for every level of participation. We are looking for interesting, historically correct impressions that will enhance our Brigade.

It is important for prospective members to take their time in creating a persona. We will mentor new members in selecting proper dress for living history. Accompanying new members to the sutlers is one of our favorite pastimes. We also have a vast library of source material to get you started.

If you always wanted to recreate the Civil War era, but did not want to carry a rifle, we have a place for you. If you are interested, please send an e-mail to Michelle Catona or visit us at one of the many reenactments listed in the 2d NJ Brigade schedule.
