The 7th NJ Civilians
The Society of the Jersey Blues, our civilian organization, is dedicated to accurately portraying the everyday lives of the civilians who lived during the American Civil War. Through a variety of impressions and activities, we endeavor to educate the public at reenactments, living histories, parades, commemorations and lectures.

As a civilian reenactor, you will have a wide variety of occupations, clothing, behaviors and skills to choose from such as a cook, seem stress, newspaper reporter, politician, farmer, doctor, lawyer, society woman or a first person impression. Our brigade is family oriented, and we encourage all family members to participate in any way they feel comfortable.

We also encourage new members to take their time in developing their impression. When you put on a frock coat or hoop skirt, you become a window to the past, and you will want to make sure you honor those ancestors we represent by getting their story right.

If you always wanted to recreate the Civil War era but did not want to carry a rifle, we have a place for you. For additional information, please send an e-mail to Debbie Mleczko or visit us at one of the many reenactments listed in the 2nd New Jersey Brigade Schedule.
